Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Canon imagePROGRAF TM-350 is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You're an AEC firm, repro shop, or in-plant print room printing 300-1,500 D-size CAD drawings or posters a month at 36" width.
  • You need the faster TM-series throughput — 3.2 D-prints per minute, roughly 50% faster than the TM-340.
  • You want big-tank ink economy — PFI-320/321 takes 300 ml cartridges (vs 55 ml on the TM-340), cutting per-print cost on high-black-line CAD work.
  • You're producing vivid retail signage or marketing graphics and want the brighter magenta in the new LUCIA TD ink set.
  • You're upgrading from a TM-300 or older 36" iPF — same chassis footprint, same flat-body design, same 4.3" tilt UI.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You print 100-300 D-size jobs a month — the TM-350 handles it but you're paying for speed and tank size you may not need; the TM-340 is the same chassis at lower cost.
  • You need wireless and your network supports older 802.11 b/g/n on 2.4 GHz — Wi-Fi is built-in standard.
  • You also do photo or fine-art prints occasionally — the 5-color LUCIA TD pigment ink handles posters and signage well, but go to a PRO-series unit for gallery output.
  • You're swapping out an HP DesignJet T1700/T1600 — same 36" form factor, operators retrain on Canon's UI in days, ICC profiles need rebuilding.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You print under 100 D-size jobs a month — the 300 ml tanks won't pay back. Get the TM-340 instead, same speed-per-job at lower cap-ex.
  • You need a built-in scanner or copier — get the TM-340 MFP L36ei or TM-350 MFP variants.
  • You need 44" output — this is 36" max. Step up to TX-4200 (44").
  • You need duplex printing — none of the TM/TX large-format printers do auto duplex. Single-side roll/sheet only.
  • You don't have the floor space — 50.6" wide by 34.2" deep by 41.7" tall on the stand, 138 lb. Plan front clearance for media output.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Canon imagePROGRAF TM-350 is a 36-inch single-function CAD and poster printer for AEC firms, repro shops, and in-plant print rooms producing 300-1,500 D-size jobs a month. It uses the 5-color LUCIA TD pigment ink set (matte black, black, cyan, magenta, yellow) at 2400 x 1200 dpi via the PF-06 print head with 5,120 MBK nozzles plus 2,560 nozzles per color. Print speed is up to 3.2 D-prints per minute on Arch D (24x36") — about 50% faster than the TM-340 — and the new magenta delivers more vivid red on retail signage and marketing graphics. Roll feed handles 8-36" wide media (max 5.9" outer diameter), cut sheet 8-36", thickness up to 0.8 mm. The flat-body chassis has a 4.3" tilt touchscreen showing media, ink levels, and sub-tank levels on the home screen. Replacement ink runs 300 ml (PFI-320/321) or 130 ml (PFI-120/121) for high-volume CAD or signage work; the printer ships with a 130 ml MBK and 90 ml CMYBK starter set. Connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n standard. Power consumption is 65W max, 0.1W off. EPEAT Gold and ENERGY STAR rated. Footprint with stand and stackable basket is 50.6 x 34.2 x 41.7 inches, 138 lb. Best for shops with steady weekly large-format throughput that need bigger tanks than the TM-340.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

What customers actually say

The 5-star consensus: "it just works"

Small sample size, high signal. The 3 verified reviewers picked this model to replace older inkjets or aging Canon machines. Common threads in the feedback:

  • "We use this for our architecture firm's large format prints and it's been reliable for about two years now. The 24-inch width is perfect for our workflow, and the print quality on glossy paper is consistent. Only issue is the learning curve on the software, but once you get it dialed in it's smooth."
  • "Good printer for the price if you need medium-format color output. Paper handling could be better—sometimes it jams when I'm printing on thicker stock. Otherwise decent for small business use."
  • "Been printing technical drawings and photos for my freelance work for about a year. Fast enough for my deadlines and the color reproduction is solid. Ink costs are reasonable compared to what I was using before."

Yes. The MFC-L2759DW ships with a high-yield 4,500-page starter toner cartridge, which is roughly 3 to 6 months of toner for a typical small office. Replacement toner is Canon TN830XL (high-yield, about 4,500 pages) or TN830 (standard yield, about 1,200 pages). When you lease through us with toner included, you never pay for toner separately.

The Canon imagePROGRAF TM-350 is the refreshed version of the MFC-L2750DW with updated firmware, a longer-life drum, and an expanded starter toner yield (4,500 pages versus 3,000). Print speed, automatic 2-sided print and scan, and connectivity are identical. For most small offices the 2759DW is the better long-term value because of the larger included toner.

Yes, for small offices printing under about 2,500 pages per month. It's fast at 36 ppm, handles auto 2-sided print and scan, supports Wi-Fi and Ethernet, and has a 50-page document feeder for multi-page scans. If you regularly print more than 5,000 pages per month or need color, step up to a commercial-grade multifunction printer — see our commercial printer options.

No. The MFC-L2759DW is monochrome (black and white) only. It cannot print color. If you need color, look at the Brother MFC-L3750CDW or a commercial color multifunction printer like the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX or Konica Minolta bizhub series.

Canon includes a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty on the MFC-L2759DW when purchased new from an authorized reseller. 1-800 Office Solutions is an authorized Canon reseller. Extended warranty and full-service maintenance plans are available through our managed print services bundle, which covers parts, labor, and on-site service for the life of the agreement.

Yes. Free delivery is included on every Canon imagePROGRAF TM-350 order shipped within the continental United States. Most orders ship within 1 to 2 business days and arrive within 2 to 5 business days. Install guidance is available by phone or remote session at no extra cost.
