The Copystar CS 408ci is the refresh of the 406ci, same 42 ppm color and black, true 1200 x 1200 dpi, but with a 7-inch tablet-style touchscreen instead of the older smaller panel. First page is 5.8 seconds black, 6.9 seconds color, and the duty cycle is 150,000 pages monthly. Standard tray is 500 sheets plus a 100-sheet bypass; you can stack cassettes up to 3,100 sheets total if your volume justifies it. Connectivity is more current than the 406ci: Wi-Fi Direct, NFC tap-to-print, AirPrint, Mopria, plus the optional TPM kit for sites that need encrypted-at-rest storage. The regret: the touchscreen is responsive but the menus are deep, so train one person on the admin side before rolling it out, otherwise users will keep calling IT to fix queue locks.
