The Kyocera TASKalfa 3551ci is a floor-standing A3 color laser MFP that sits in the middle of Kyocera's mid-2010s enterprise line (alongside the 3051ci, 4551ci, and 5551ci). It runs 35 ppm in both black and color at Letter, 17 ppm at A3, with a 175,000-page monthly duty cycle and a 4.8-second first-page-out for black. Standard capacity is 1,150 sheets — two 500-sheet drawers plus a 150-sheet multi-purpose tray — expandable to 7,150 with the dual 1,500-sheet PF-740 or the 3,000-sheet side LCT. Resolution is 600 x 600 dpi native with multi-bit technology Kyocera markets as 1200 dpi equivalent — good for office documents, not the same as true 1200 dpi on the 3552ci. The base RADF is the 100-sheet DP-770; the upgrade most departments actually wanted is the DP-772 one-path duplex ADF, which doubles scan throughput to 100 ipm. The 9-inch color touchscreen runs Kyocera HyPAS for scan workflow apps. The reason this stays in fleets: the long-life amorphous silicon drum and predictable parts cycle. The reason new buyers skip it: it's a 2013-platform machine and the 3552ci/3553ci are the current shelf models.
