The Lanier MP 4002SP is a floor-standing tabloid (11x17) B&W laser MFP built for workgroups of 10-25 users. It prints and copies at 40 ppm, holds 1,200 sheets standard across two 550-sheet drawers and a 100-sheet bypass, and expands to 4,300 sheets with the optional 1,200-sheet LCT or 2,000-sheet large capacity tray. First-copy-out is 4.1 seconds and warm-up is under 19 seconds in print/scan mode. The 100-sheet Automatic Reversing Document Feeder (ARDF) handles two-sided originals (it flips, so it's slower than the single-pass SPDF on the newer MP 4054/4055). Standard connectivity is 10/100 Ethernet plus USB 2.0; Gigabit Ethernet, Wireless LAN, and Bluetooth are optional interfaces. The control panel is a 4.3-inch tilting LCD with hard keys, not the 10.1-inch Smart Operation Panel that came on the 4054/4055 series. The thing buyers regret: ordering this when they meant to order the 5002 or 6002SP — the chassis is the same and the speed bump is worth the small price difference at any volume above 5,000 pages/month. Launched 2010, discontinued — sold refurbished or off-lease now.
