The Lanier MP C401 is a desktop A4 (letter/legal) color laser MFP built for small offices of 5-15 users printing 1,500-4,000 pages a month. It prints and copies 42 ppm in both black and color from a single 550-sheet drawer plus a 100-sheet bypass (650 standard, expandable to 2,300 with two optional 550-sheet trays). First-page-out is 6.7 seconds black / 8.3 seconds color at 1200 x 1200 dpi. The 50-sheet Automatic Reversing Document Feeder handles one- and two-sided originals up to 8.5" x 14", and standard auto duplex covers print. The 4.3" color WVGA tilt control panel is the predecessor to the Smart Operation Panel — fast, simple, but limited to the function-key shortcut model rather than the app-driven workflow of the C406/C407 generation. Standard connectivity is Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, and SD card; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Parallel are optional. The thing buyers regret: not stepping up to the C406 when their scan workload turned out to be heavier than the 50-sheet reversing ADF could handle — the C406 ships with a 100-sheet SPDF and the 10.1" Smart Operation Panel at the same footprint.
