With a built-in scanner and copy controller bolted onto the Pro C901 engine, the C901S Graphic Arts Edition gives production print shops walk-up MFP convenience without giving up the 90 ppm color speed or 1200 dpi quality that defines the C901 family. Stocks up to 300 gsm, 13x19 full-bleed, and the same PxP chemical toner for matte coated work all carry over from the single-function model. The scanner runs at up to 220 ipm duplex, useful when an operator needs to recapture a customer's existing piece for reprint or scan-to-archive proofs as part of job tracking. Fiery FS-100Pro handles VDP, imposition, and trims via inline finishing options including booklet, ring-bind, and trimmer modules. The MFP body adds about 18 inches of height versus the single-function model, but the integrated scanner saves the cost and floor space of a separate Fujitsu or Canon production scanner. One regret: walk-up users will sometimes interrupt production runs by coming to scan a single page — keep it in a controlled area, not the open hallway, or add a print release system to triage walk-up traffic.
