  • You need fax — the Fax Option Type M44 bolts on; plan for the line install.
  • You're moving up from the IM 7000 — the engine is a step faster but the chassis, finishers, and panel are identical, so the install and training carry over.

The Savin IM 8000 is an 80 ppm production-class A3 black-and-white laser multifunction — the middle of Savin's flagship high-speed B&W line (IM 7000 / IM 8000 / IM 9000 share the same 441-lb console chassis). It's built for central reprographics, shared services, or large departments of 150-400 people that need real production-style output, heavy scanning, and full inline finishing without buying a dedicated production printer. It scans at 120 ipm simplex / 240 ipm duplex on the single-pass document feeder, prints at up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, and ships with 4,300 sheets of standard input — 8,700 max with the 4,400-sheet LCT RT4080. Maximum output capacity hits 3,500 sheets. The human-detection wake sensor on the 10.1" tiltable Smart Operation Panel powers the device up before the user touches it, which is more meaningful than it sounds in heavy-walk-up environments. Toner runs 43,000 pages and the waste toner bottle is 450,000 sheets — same supplies as the IM 7000 and IM 9000, which simplifies parts inventory. Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.
