  • You need single-pass duplex scanning — the 50-sheet ARDF on the MP-series is a reversing feeder, not single-pass. The IM 2500/3500 has the 220-sheet single-pass duplex feeder.
  • You need color — this is mono only.
  • You want the current 10.1" Smart Operation Panel — this MP-series uses an older 8.5" color LCD; the UI family is different from the IM-series.
  • You're buying new and want long-term parts and firmware support — the MP 2352SP is a discontinued legacy product (replaced by the IM 2500). Check supply availability before committing.

The Savin MP 2352SP is a previous-generation A3 black-and-white laser multifunction — a 23 ppm small-office workhorse that predates Savin's current IM-series Smart Operation Panel chassis. It's still sold and serviced as a refurbished or pre-owned unit and shows up regularly in second-hand fleets, but the current new equivalent is the Savin IM 2500. It prints and copies at up to 23 ppm, scans at 50 ipm B&W / 45 ipm color (200 dpi) via the 50-sheet automatic reversing document feeder, and prints at up to 600 dpi (lower than the 1,200 x 1,200 dpi on the IM-series). Standard paper capacity is 1,150 sheets across a 500-sheet tray, a 550-sheet tray, and a 100-sheet bypass; the maximum is 3,150 sheets with the optional 2,000-sheet LCT or extra trays. Standard 120 GB hard disk drive, standard automatic duplex printing, and standard DataOverwriteSecurity & HDD Encryption. The 8.5" color LCD touchscreen is the previous-generation Savin UI, not the current 10.1" Smart Operation Panel — admin tools and user workflows don't carry over to a current IM-series fleet. Standard connectivity is 10/100 Ethernet plus USB 2.0 and an SD slot; Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IEEE 1284 Parallel, and fax are all optional. The thing buyers regret: not pricing the IM 2500 first. The IM 2500 (25 ppm, current chassis) is the supported successor — same A3, same form factor, with single-pass duplex scanning, 1,200 dpi output, and the current Smart Operation Panel.

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.
