The Toshiba e-STUDIO 306 is an A3 monochrome laser MFP for small and mid workgroups (5-25 users) that need 11x17 mono in a compact 23 x 23 inch floor footprint. It prints and copies at 30 ppm with 2400 x 600 dpi resolution (with smoothing), warms up in about 20 seconds, and turns out the first copy in 4.7 seconds. Standard paper is 1,100 sheets across two 550-sheet cassettes plus a 100-sheet bypass; max is 3,200 with the optional 550-sheet PFP and 2,000-sheet LCF. Max duty is 120,000 pages a month, with a 36,600-page toner yield (6%). The 9-inch color touch panel was a big deal for this class of machine — most peers in the 2012 era still had hard-button UIs. Standard scan-to-email/SMB/FTP, walk-up USB print/scan, and limitless auto duplex are all included. RADF, fax, Wi-Fi, and advanced OCR scanning are options. The machine ships with 256-bit AES on a self-encrypting drive and DoD 5220.22M overwrite. The thing buyers regret: assuming this is a current-generation Toshiba. The 306 is a previous-gen platform — the e-STUDIO 357 (and now the 3528A) replaced it with FIPS 140-2 SED, AirPrint, and Mopria. For new purchases at 2026 prices, the 357 is usually the better buy.
