The Toshiba e-STUDIO 306G is the government/GSA-channel version of the 306 — same A3 monochrome laser MFP, same 30 ppm, same 1,100-sheet standard capacity (3,200 max), same 9-inch color touch panel and standard auto duplex. The "G" suffix means the unit ships through Toshiba's government program with the contract paperwork, security configuration (256-bit AES SED, DoD 5220.22M overwrite), and lifecycle support that federal, state, and local agencies need. Hardware is identical to the commercial 306. It's an 11x17 mono MFP for workgroups of 5-25 that print 1,500-5,000 pages a month and want a compact 23 x 23 inch floor unit with walk-up USB print/scan and scan-to-email/folder/FTP. Max duty is 120,000 pages a month; toner yield is 36,600 pages at 6%. Wi-Fi (GN1060), Super G3 fax (GD1250NXF), and 100-sheet RADF (MR3021) are options, not standard. The thing buyers regret on the 306G is the same as the 306: it's a previous-generation platform. If you don't have to buy through GSA, the current e-STUDIO 357 — and now the e-STUDIO 3528A — gives you the same 30/35 ppm in a newer chassis with FIPS 140-2 SED and AirPrint built in.
