The KIP 8050 is the MFP version of the 8000-series plotter — same 22 D-size ppm (47 ft/min) print engine at 400-600 dpi optical resolution but with optional KIP 2200 scan integration for walk-up copy and scan-to-file. It's a 4-roll machine (500 ft each) plus a 50-sheet automatic cut-sheet feeder for handling individual special-size jobs. KIPFold 8000 folding integration is supported for finished plan-set output. Footprint is 53 x 39 x 34 inches at 881 lbs and it needs 220-240V 16A. Targeted at high-volume in-plant repro and large AEC firms with constant walk-up traffic. Where buyers most regret: the optional KIP 2200 scanner is a meaningful upcharge — many teams bought the 8050 base unit thinking they'd add the scanner later, but never did, and effectively paid MFP-platform prices for a print-only configuration. Just buy the 8080 if you don't actually need the scan capability.
