Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Canon Arizona 1340 GT is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You run a sign and display shop printing 800-3,000 sq ft a day on rigid substrates.
  • You need real production speed — 547 sq ft/hr in High-Key mode, 380 sq ft/hr in Production density.
  • You're buying entry-level into the 1300 series and want to upgrade to 6 or 8 channels later (1340 GT upgrades in field to 1360 GT or 1380 GT).
  • You're replacing a discontinued 1240/1260 GT and want the next-gen platform with the same workflow (ProductionHouse, ONYX).
  • You print on rigid substrates up to 49.2 x 98.4 in. and up to 2 in. thick.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You print 3,000-5,000 sq ft a day — works fine, but you'll be running long shifts. The 1360 GT or 6160 XTHF gets there faster.
  • You'll want white ink and varnish later — start with the 1340 GT (4-channel CMYK) and upgrade to the 1360 GT (6-channel) in the field when needed.
  • You also print roll-fed flexible media — the optional Roll Media Option bolts on.
  • You're moving up from the 135 GT — the 1340 GT roughly doubles the throughput at the cost of footprint and capex.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You print under 200 sq ft a week — Arizona-class capex doesn't pencil out. Get the 135 GT or a competing entry flatbed.
  • You need white ink and varnish out of the box — buy the 1360 GT or 1380 GT, not the 4-channel 1340 GT.
  • You need media larger than 49 x 98 in. — get the 1340 XT.
  • You print over 5,000 sq ft a day — the 6160 XTHF Mark II is built for that volume; the 1300 series is mid-volume.
  • You don't have an experienced operator and a calibrated RIP workflow — this is not press-a-button equipment.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Canon Arizona 1340 GT is the entry-level 4-channel model in the Arizona 1300 series — a true UV flatbed printer with a 49.2 x 98.4 in. (125 x 250 cm) bed for sign and display shops doing 800-3,000 sq ft a day on rigid substrates. It uses the third-generation VariaDot piezoelectric printhead system with 636 nozzles per channel and variable droplet sizes from 6 to 42 picoliters. Top speed is up to 547 sq ft/hr in high-key (light-coverage) mode and around 380 sq ft/hr at Production density — meaningfully faster than the 1240 GT it replaces. The 1340 GT runs CMYK out of the box; field upgrades take it to 6 channels (1360 GT — adds white and varnish) or 8 channels (1380 GT — adds light cyan and light magenta), so you can buy in at the entry tier and grow into the higher tiers without a chassis swap. Rigid media up to 2 in. thick. UV-LED instant curing, no warm-up. We sell the 1340 GT to shops printing POP, retail signage, exhibit panels, and short-run rigid display work who don't yet need white or LC/LM. The thing buyers regret is buying the 1340 GT then immediately wanting white ink for backlit work — if you know you'll need white in year one, start with the 1360 GT.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

What customers actually say

The 5-star consensus: "it just works"

Small sample size, high signal. The 4 verified reviewers picked this model to replace older inkjets or aging Canon machines. Common threads in the feedback:

  • "We got this for our print shop about two years ago and it's been solid. The color accuracy on wide format jobs is consistent, and the UV ink setup handles different substrates without much fiddling. Maintenance has been straightforward so far."
  • "Been running this printer at my small business for about eighteen months now. Durability is there, color output is reliable, and the support from Canon has been responsive when I had questions about settings."
  • "We use this for our print shop and it handles high-volume jobs without breaking down. The color accuracy is solid for most applications, though we did need to dial in the settings for specialty substrates."
  • "Decent machine overall but the learning curve is steeper than expected if you're new to UV printing. Once you get past that, it produces quality work."

Yes. The MFC-L2759DW ships with a high-yield 4,500-page starter toner cartridge, which is roughly 3 to 6 months of toner for a typical small office. Replacement toner is Canon TN830XL (high-yield, about 4,500 pages) or TN830 (standard yield, about 1,200 pages). When you lease through us with toner included, you never pay for toner separately.

The Canon Arizona 1340 GT is the refreshed version of the MFC-L2750DW with updated firmware, a longer-life drum, and an expanded starter toner yield (4,500 pages versus 3,000). Print speed, automatic 2-sided print and scan, and connectivity are identical. For most small offices the 2759DW is the better long-term value because of the larger included toner.

Yes, for small offices printing under about 2,500 pages per month. It's fast at 36 ppm, handles auto 2-sided print and scan, supports Wi-Fi and Ethernet, and has a 50-page document feeder for multi-page scans. If you regularly print more than 5,000 pages per month or need color, step up to a commercial-grade multifunction printer — see our commercial printer options.

No. The MFC-L2759DW is monochrome (black and white) only. It cannot print color. If you need color, look at the Brother MFC-L3750CDW or a commercial color multifunction printer like the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX or Konica Minolta bizhub series.

Canon includes a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty on the MFC-L2759DW when purchased new from an authorized reseller. 1-800 Office Solutions is an authorized Canon reseller. Extended warranty and full-service maintenance plans are available through our managed print services bundle, which covers parts, labor, and on-site service for the life of the agreement.

Yes. Free delivery is included on every Canon Arizona 1340 GT order shipped within the continental United States. Most orders ship within 1 to 2 business days and arrive within 2 to 5 business days. Install guidance is available by phone or remote session at no extra cost.
