You'll be happy if...

  • You print 25,000-50,000 pages a month — the M1206 will outlive the lease, but the per-page cost works out roughly the same as the M1056. Pick by future volume, not current.
  • You need booklet finishing — saddle-stitch only on the optional MX-FN22; the FN21 staples but doesn't fold.
  • You want hole-punch — the MX-PN13B 3-hole add-on bolts to either finisher; just plan for it at quote time, not after install.
  • You handle occasional 12x18 SRA3 jobs — works, but feed those from the LCT (MX-LC13N air-feed) for reliable thick-stock pickup.

  • You print under 15,000 pages a month — you're paying production-class money for an engine you won't feed. The M1056 or a 75-ppm A3 MFP fits better.

The 1.4 GHz controller, 6 GB RAM, 1 TB drive, and 15.4-inch tilting touchscreen are standard, and the optional MX-PE16 Fiery FS400 Pro server adds Command WorkStation, imposition, color management, and banner/tab automation integrated into the panel. Resolution is true 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. Security covers Application Whitelisting, Firmware Attack Prevention, and the Sharp End-of-Lease data wipe.
