The Sharp MX-C407F is a workgroup A4 color desktop MFP built for small offices of 3-10 people printing 1,500-4,000 pages a month who need a 7" touchscreen, real workgroup features, and cloud connectors on a desktop footprint. Print and copy at 40 ppm in both black and color (1,200 x 1,200 dpi), with first-page-out at 10 seconds black / 12 color from the platen — slower than the MX-C507F (which uses the same chassis with a faster engine), but priced accordingly. The 50-sheet RSPF scans at 60 ipm, and the 7" tilting color touchscreen drives full scan-to-cloud, scan-to-email, scan-to-folder, and direct printing of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files from USB or mobile. Standard 650-sheet input (550-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet bypass), expandable to 2,300 with up to three optional MX-CS17 550-sheet drawers. Standard Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, AirPrint; Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n is optional. Optional 500 GB hard drive. Cloud connectors for Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, and Box. The thing buyers regret: spec'ing this when the workflow needs OCR. Built-in OCR is on the MX-C507F, not the C407F — the C407F supports OCR via third-party apps, which adds licensing and complexity.
