The Sharp MX-C507P is a 50-ppm desktop color laser printer for small offices and workgroups of 8-20 people that need in-house color at true 1,200 x 1,200 dpi without buying MFP scan/copy hardware. It runs PCL 6 and PostScript 3, prints letter and legal (no 11x17), and pulls from a 550-sheet drawer plus a 100-sheet bypass standard (650 sheets total), expandable to 2,300 sheets via the optional MX-CS17 550-sheet feed unit (multiple). First print is 5.5 seconds in color, 5.0 seconds in mono — about half the time of the smaller MX-C407P. The 4.3-inch color touchscreen handles print preview and direct print of BMP, DCX, DOC/DOCX, GIF, JPEG, PCX, PDF, PNG, PPT/PPTX, TIFF, XLS/XLSX, and XPS via FTP, SMB, web page, email, and the front USB host port. Auto duplex is standard. Wired interface is Gigabit Ethernet plus dual USB 2.0 host ports; 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi is optional. Memory is 1 GB standard, 3 GB max. AirPrint and Android print framework are standard. Footprint is 18.7 x 19.5 x 16.4 inches at 80.5 lb. Color toners are MX-C51TC/M/Y, black is MX-C51TB. The thing buyers regret: paying color toner economics on a workflow that's 90% mono. If your color volume is under 10% of total, the MX-B557P is the same speed in mono with much cheaper supplies.
