Is this the right printer for you?

Who the Xerox 4110 is actually for

Most printer pages just tell you what a printer does. Here's the honest version: when this machine is the right choice, when it's fine, and when you should look at something else. We sell a lot of these for a reason, but the reason is not "every office."

Best fit

Pick this if...

  • You run a transactional print operation, in-plant, or central reprographics doing 80,000-350,000 mono pages per month.
  • You inherited a 4110 in your fleet and need to source supplies, finishing, or a parallel unit to keep the workflow going.
  • You print statements, bills, manuals, and short-run books at 110 ppm Letter and want SRA3 (12x18) capability for full-bleed work.
  • You're standardizing on FreeFlow Print Server across your floor and want a 4110 alongside other 4-series units.
  • You can take used or refurbished gear — the 4110 is end-of-life new but readily available refurb.
Works fine

You'll be happy if...

  • You print 50,000-80,000 pages a month — engine handles it; you're under-using a 110 ppm production unit.
  • You need scanning at 100 ipm — the 4110 dual-head ADF is mono-only at 100 ipm, fine for transactional originals; for color scan, look at the 4112/4127 era.
  • You added the High Capacity Stacker (5,000 sheets) for unattended runs — works well, the rollaway cart is the right call.
Look elsewhere

Skip this if...

  • You need color — the 4110 is mono only.
  • You print under 30,000 pages a month — paying for a 110 ppm production engine and treating it like an MFP.
  • You need new-with-warranty gear and vendor service contracts — the 4110 is end-of-life; a PrimeLink B9100 series or ED95A/ED125 is the modern equivalent.
  • You don't have 208-240 VAC / 15A and a 591-lb floor capacity in your print room.
  • You need color scanning — the 4110's dual-head ADF is mono only.
Full specifications

Every spec, no guessing

The Xerox 4110 Copier/Printer is a 110 ppm mono production unit built for transactional print, in-plant operations, and central reprographics doing 80,000-350,000 pages per month. It prints at 110 ppm Letter at 2400 x 2400 dpi with 256 gray levels and a 3-second first copy out. Standard paper capacity covers 4,250 sheets across the standard trays (1,100-sheet letter, 1,600-sheet letter, 2x550-sheet trays) plus the 250-sheet bypass that runs 4x6 to 13x19. The 250-sheet single-pass duplex ADF scans mono at 100 ipm to email, SMB/FTP, USB, or mailbox over LDAP. Auto duplex on prints; ADF handles duplex originals. Optional High Capacity Stacker holds 5,000 sheets with a rollaway cart for unattended overnight runs. Standard finisher covers single or dual 100-sheet variable-length staples, 2/3-hole punch, and 3,000-sheet stacking. The optional Booklet Maker Finisher adds saddle-stitch up to 25 sheets / 100 imaged pages. Standard control is the integrated server with color touchscreen; FreeFlow Print Server (SUN platform) is the production upgrade for shops running PostScript / VIPP / VPS workflows. Footprint is 57.3 x 93.5 x 30.8 inches at 591 lb on 208-240V / 15A. Buyer regret: keeping a 4110 in service past 2018 and paying for parts that get harder to source — the modern equivalent is an ED95A (100 ppm) or PrimeLink B9100 (100 ppm). Best for shops that already operate one and want to extend service life on a known platform.

Supplies & consumables

Toner, yields, and what to actually reorder

The #1 question we get on this printer is "which toner do I buy?" Short answer: you have two cartridge options and a drum. Standard yield TN830 covers roughly 1,200 pages. High yield TN830XL covers roughly 4,500 pages and is the better value for most offices. Pick XL unless you print very little.

The drum unit (DR810) is separate and usually lasts 15,000 to 30,000 pages before it needs replacing. At a typical small office volume, expect to change it once every 2 to 4 years.

If you lease this printer through us, toner and drum are included. You never pay for supplies separately. That's usually the better deal once you add up real costs over 3 years.

FAQ

Xerox 4110, common questions

The questions we get asked most often on this model. If yours isn't here, call (888) 574-5120 and get an answer in about 30 seconds.

Yes, the Xerox 4110 ships with a starter toner cartridge that yields approximately 60,000 to 81,000 pages at 5% coverage. The replacement toner model is the Xerox 006R01583 (or 6R1237), which is a high-yield cartridge designed for high-volume printing. When you lease through us with toner included, you never pay for toner separately.
The Xerox 4110 is a monochrome production printer with a speed of 110 ppm, ideal for high-volume black-and-white printing, while the Xerox Color EC70 is a color printer with speeds of 70 ppm color and 75 ppm black, designed for color-intensive environments. The 4110 is suited for transactional print and central reprographics, whereas the EC70 supports specialty media like coated stocks and synthetics. For small offices needing color, the EC70 is a better fit, but the 4110 is more cost-effective for high-volume monochrome needs.
The Xerox 4110 is designed for high-volume environments, printing 80,000-350,000 pages per month at 110 ppm, which may exceed the needs of most small businesses. Its large footprint and production-level features are better suited for in-plant operations or central reprographics. Small businesses with lower volume requirements may find it more practical to lease a commercial-grade printer.
No, the Xerox 4110 is a monochrome-only printer designed for high-volume black-and-white printing. For color printing, consider alternatives like the Xerox Color EC70, Xerox VersaLink C405, or Xerox AltaLink C8100 series.
