If your copier invoice says PEAC Solutions, or your older paperwork says Marlin, and your lease is coming due, this guide will help you make a clear, well-timed decision. We explain who PEAC Solutions is, what its published materials say about the end of a lease, and which clauses in your agreement cover the rest. Where a detail depends on your own contract, we show you where to look.
Who PEAC Solutions is
PEAC Solutions is the name Marlin Leasing Corporation now operates under. Here is how that happened, based on public records:
- Marlin was a public company. Marlin Business Services Corp. was listed on Nasdaq and, in its annual report for 2019, gave its principal office as Mount Laurel, New Jersey. That same report said copiers were its single largest equipment category. [1]
- HPS bought Marlin. Funds managed by affiliates of HPS Investment Partners completed their acquisition of Marlin on January 20, 2022, and Marlin’s stock stopped trading on Nasdaq. [2]
- The rebrand. In July 2022, Marlin Leasing Corporation announced it would rebrand as PEAC Solutions. The name stands for Pan-European Americas Capital Solutions and links the U.S. business with PEAC UK and PEAC Europe. The announcement said existing financial products and their terms would not change. [3]
- The legal entity is still Marlin. PEAC’s website says its equipment financing is provided by Marlin Leasing Corporation, and ePlus describes PEAC Solutions as a trademark of Marlin Leasing Corporation. [4][5] So your contract may name Marlin even though the invoice says PEAC.
- Recent growth. Marlin Leasing Corporation, doing business as PEAC Solutions, bought the U.S. financing business of ePlus effective June 30, 2025. [5] Separately, Xerox announced in 2023 that PEAC would support leases originated by Xerox’s FITTLE network of independent dealers in the United States. [6]
Older Marlin documents may also mention Marlin Business Bank, which the 2019 annual report described as the company’s Utah bank and main funding source. [1] Whatever name appears on your paperwork, the PEAC customer care line can confirm who services your contract today.
How lease end usually works with PEAC Solutions
PEAC Solutions offers several options at the end of the term. The exact terms for your account are set in your signed agreement, and PEAC’s customer care team can confirm them. What we share here comes from Marlin’s public filings, PEAC’s help center, and common copier lease structure. Contacting PEAC through its Customer Connect portal early is the easiest way to confirm your options.
Your end-of-term options. Marlin’s 2019 annual report said that at the end of a lease a customer may return the equipment, keep leasing it, or buy it. [1]
Purchase option types. The same report described three purchase options a customer chooses when the lease is signed: a $1 option, a fair market value option, or a fixed percentage of the original equipment cost. It said fixed purchase option leases typically carried an option equal to 10% of original cost. [1] Look on the first page of your lease for a box or line labeled “purchase option” or “end of term option” to see which one you have.
How fair market value is set. Many lease forms define fair market value in a “fair market value” or “definitions” section. When you request a quote, PEAC can explain how the figure was determined.
Renewal and notice. Marlin’s 2019 annual report said its leases generally include renewal provisions and that many continue past the original term. [1] If no option is chosen, the agreement continues on a month-to-month (or renewal) basis until you choose an option. Look for a section titled “renewal,” “end of term” or “notice” in your agreement. It will usually say how many days before the end date to notify PEAC and how notice should be sent.
Returns. Return steps such as return authorization, packing and shipping are normally set in a “return of equipment” clause. PEAC customer care can give you return instructions in writing before anything ships.
Buyout quotes. PEAC’s help center says buyouts are requested through its Customer Connect portal. Buyout letters are prepared on request rather than downloaded, because buyout amounts are recalculated regularly. Paid in Full letters can also be requested there. [7]
Invoice items. Depending on your agreement, invoices can include items like property tax or insurance. PEAC’s customer portal or customer service can explain each line.
Protect your data before any return
Most modern copiers store images of the documents they scan, copy and print. This applies no matter which company holds your lease. Before any machine leaves your office:
- Plan hard drive wiping or removal with your dealer or IT team.
- Ask for confirmation in writing once the work is done.
- Follow the Federal Trade Commission’s copier data security guidance, which suggests checking your lease for hard drive terms and asking your dealer or service provider about overwriting or removing the drive. [8]
Your 120-90-60 day checklist
- About 120 days out: get your paperwork. Log in to Customer Connect and download a copy of your lease. [7] Write down the contract number, end date, purchase option type, and the exact renewal and notice language.
- Confirm the name on the contract. If it says Marlin, call PEAC customer care at (888) 236-2409 to confirm who services it. [10]
- List your equipment. Match each serial number on the lease schedule to a machine in your office. Note anything that was moved, added or replaced.
- About 90 days out: decide your direction. Buy, renew, return, or replace with new equipment. Look at your monthly volume and how well the current machines still fit your needs.
- Request a buyout or purchase option quote through Customer Connect, even if you plan to return. It gives you a number to compare. [7]
- Send any required notice as the clause describes. Use the address and method the lease names, and keep a copy with proof of delivery.
- About 60 days out: ask for return instructions in writing. Confirm whether a return authorization is needed, where the equipment goes, and what should ship with it.
- Schedule the data wipe. Ask your dealer or IT team to overwrite or remove the hard drive, following FTC guidance. [8]
- Line up the next step. If new equipment is coming, set the install date before the old machines leave so your office is not without printing.
- After the return: keep your records. Save the carrier receipt and PEAC’s confirmation that the return is complete.
Upgrading instead of returning
Some businesses reach lease end and find the copier still fits. Others have outgrown it or need better scanning, security or color. If you are leaning toward an upgrade, a partner dealer can review your options, including how the current lease is settled and how timing lines up with your end date. Ask any dealer to put the payoff handling and the return logistics in writing, and compare that against the PEAC buyout quote you requested. We do not promise any particular outcome, since every lease and every office is different.
