This guide is for office managers, controllers and CFOs whose copier, printer or multifunction device is financed by Navitas Credit Corp. and whose agreement is coming to an end. If your invoices come from Navitas, or you recently got a renewal letter from them, start here.

We based it on Navitas’s own website and customer FAQ, a Navitas credit application, and industry news about the company’s ownership. Navitas has not published a full lease agreement that we could review, so for notice and return terms we show you exactly where to look in your own contract.

Who Navitas is

Navitas Credit Corp. is an equipment finance company headquartered in Ponte Vedra, Florida. It finances a wide range of commercial equipment for businesses, and its technology page lists printers among the equipment it finances. It also has a page on financing printers, scanners and workplace peripherals. Like other copier lessors, Navitas often works through the dealer or vendor that sold your equipment.

Navitas changed hands in 2026. United Community Bank, its former parent, agreed in June 2026 to sell Navitas to investment funds advised by Wafra, and trade press reported the sale completed in September 2026. Reports say Navitas keeps its name, its Ponte Vedra headquarters and its management team, and describe it as an independent equipment finance company going forward. You may see both “Navitas Credit Corp.” and “Navitas Credit LLC” on the company’s website. Use the name and address printed on your own agreement and invoices.

Existing customers can use the Navitas Customer Portal at my.navitascredit.com to view invoices, see payment history, update contact details, request payoffs and upload documents.

How lease end usually works with Navitas

Navitas offers several options at the end of the term. Its FAQ says that, depending on your agreement, you may own the equipment, buy it, or return it. Contacting Navitas through its customer portal early is the easiest way to confirm your options.

Know your agreement type

A Navitas credit application asks the applicant to choose an “End of Lease Option” of FMV or $1 Out. Check page one of your agreement to see which option you have.

  • On a $1 out structure, the end-of-term purchase price is $1. Check your agreement to see whether ownership passes automatically after the last payment or whether you take a step to complete the purchase.
  • On a fair market value (FMV) lease, you choose what happens next, as described below.

The renewal letter

Navitas’s FAQ explains that its renewal letter lays out your choices. For FMV leases, you can buy the equipment, return it, or continue month to month, and Navitas asks customers to let it know their choice. The FAQ also explains that renewal payments are rental payments and do not count toward ownership.

If no option is chosen

Until you tell Navitas your choice, the agreement continues on a month-to-month basis. Your agreement’s renewal clause sets out the details, so read it alongside the renewal letter.

Notice

The Navitas FAQ does not state a notice period or when the renewal letter is sent. We could not find a posted Navitas lease that shows its end-of-term notice clause, so we cannot tell you your window.

Read the sections of your agreement that cover the term, end of term, renewal and notices. Write down how many days of notice it asks for, whether notice must be in writing, and where it should be sent. Starting early, before the renewal letter arrives, gives you the most room to compare options.

Buying the equipment

You can request a payoff or buyout figure through the Customer Portal or by contacting Navitas customer service. When you request it, ask what the figure includes so you can compare it with your other options.

The FAQ also says early payoff is always allowed, with the details depending on your agreement, and that a contract can be closed early by paying it off.

Returning the equipment

Return is one of the end-of-term options Navitas lists. Your agreement’s return clause sets out the details. Ask Navitas for written return instructions, including the destination and packing requirements, before you schedule a pickup.

Questions about your invoice

Depending on your agreement, invoices can include items like property tax or insurance. Navitas’s customer portal or customer service can explain each line.

Protect your data before any return

Whatever you decide, plan for the data on the device before it leaves your office. This step applies to any copier return, with any lessor. Many copiers and multifunction printers store data on a hard drive or other internal storage.

  • Plan drive wiping or removal with your dealer or IT team before the machine is picked up.
  • Ask for confirmation in writing that the work was done.
  • Follow the FTC’s guidance on copier data security. It suggests checking your agreement for hard drive terms and having a qualified technician handle the drive instead of removing it yourself.

Your 120-90-60 day checklist

  1. 120 days out: find your paperwork. Pull the signed agreement, the equipment list and a recent invoice. Note the agreement number, end-of-lease option, start date and term.
  2. 120 days out: read the key clauses. Find the end-of-term, renewal, notice and return sections. Put the actual notice deadline on your calendar.
  3. 110 days out: log in to the portal. Confirm your contact information, billing address and equipment location are current so the renewal letter reaches the right person.
  4. 100 days out: request a payoff figure. Use the portal or customer service, and ask what the figure includes.
  5. Before your notice deadline: tell Navitas your choice in writing. Follow the method in your agreement, include your agreement number, and keep proof of delivery.
  6. 60 days out: plan data removal. Ask your dealer or IT team to wipe or remove the hard drive, and ask for written confirmation.
  7. 45 days out: arrange the return if you are returning. Get written return instructions from Navitas, book de-installation and freight, and record meter readings and photos.
  8. After the end date: close it out. Check the portal to confirm your account reflects the option you chose, and keep your proof of notice on file.

Upgrading instead of returning

Navitas describes leasing as a way to keep options to buy, return or upgrade at the end of a set period. An upgrade may make sense if your print volume, security needs or number of devices has changed since you signed.

A partner dealer can review your options, including whether an upgrade, a new agreement or a return is the better fit. Keep your current notice deadline in view while you compare. Signing a new agreement does not by itself close the old one.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns Navitas now, and does that change my lease?

Trade press reported in September 2026 that investment funds advised by Wafra completed the purchase of Navitas from United Community Bank, and that Navitas keeps its name and headquarters. We did not find any public statement about changes to existing customer agreements. Your signed agreement still controls, so watch your invoices and portal for any notices.

What does the Navitas renewal letter mean?

It sets out your end-of-term choices. On an FMV lease you can buy the equipment, return it, or continue month to month, and Navitas asks you to let it know your choice.

Do Navitas renewal payments count toward owning the copier?

No. Navitas’s FAQ says renewal payments are rental payments and do not apply toward ownership. If you plan to keep the equipment, ask for a buyout figure.

How do I get a payoff or buyout quote from Navitas?

Request one through the Customer Portal at my.navitascredit.com or by contacting Navitas customer service. Ask for an itemized quote if you want to see what it includes.

How do I ask about a line on my Navitas invoice?

Depending on your agreement, invoices can include items like property tax or insurance. Navitas’s customer portal or customer service can explain each line. Have your agreement number ready when you reach out.
